TEACHING ARTISTRY IS . . .

To me, teaching artistry is more than just exploring the world of arts education. It’s community building through experiential learning. We are teaching to them to be more than just performers, we are teaching them to people.

Teaching Artistry Snapshot!

  • Working as a teaching artist within the Nutcracker Project in a six-session residency, I assisted with Public and Charter schools within the state of New York to create devised dance works centered in ballet movement that were entirely student devised and curated. Combining both poetry and movement, students were given small and large group formats to create works within informal “shares”.

  • Leading 7 in-school residencies, I engage with students to create entirely unique theater productions that combine student direction, choreography and blocking to create a singular theater performance for family and friends to enjoy.

  • Working in a afterschool program, we combined traditional theater rehearsal and student devised works to create a 60 minute Jr Production of the beloved James and the Giant Peach.

  • Working as a education apprentice for the 2024 season, I worked as a administrative assistant, lead teaching artist, choreographer and director for both mainstage TYA shows, and theater camps hosted in collaboration with Theatre Aspen’s edu programming.

  • Working as a part of the creative team for the K-8th grades, I directed four “mini residencies” over the course of the 2025 summer season! These camps ranged from movie makers, to improv camps to script writing and dance.

  • Working as a part of the “Huegel Eagle” team, we began our Year One residency through the Disney Music in Schools program for the Overture Center!

  • Current member of the First Stage EDU Team, dedicated to bringing accessible theater opportunities to young people in the greater Milwaukee area in a public school setting.
